Description: (Sunset Zone 2-24,26-41,H1,H2, USDA Zone 4). Native to China, leaves used in silkworm culture. Deciduous tree with weeping habit and deeply cut, dark green leaves. This variety is fruitless. Best suited for larger bonsai.

Basic Care: Best if grown in full sun. Some frost protection in winter is recommended. Keep this moisture-loving tree well watered in summer.

Feeding: Fertilize just before and during growing season until autumn. Many brands of fertilizer are available and it is beneficial to use a variety of these. Follow all package instructions.

Repotting: Every two years in early spring. Use a free-draining soil mix. Correct root pruning is very important and cannot be addressed in a line or two. Please refer to your favorite bonsai book or local bonsai experts.
