Price: $12.00
Availability: in stock

Description : (Sunset Zone 3-24,26-35,37-39, USDA Zone 5). Often evergreen in mild climates. This variety is from seed but shows consistent and bright fall color. Not as hearty as other elms, but is the most useful for bonsai. As tree ages, sycamore-like bark will develop. Very dark and glossy leaves.

Basic Care :  Full sun to part shade. Protect roots from freezing in winter. Keep soil moist at all times and water most often during hot weather.

Feeding :  Fertilize just before and during growing season until autumn. Many brands of ferilizer are available and it is beneficial to use a variety of these. Follow all package instructions.

Repotting :  Repotting is best done in early Spring and usually after two to three years of being in the same pot. Correct root pruning is very important and cannot be addressed in a line or two. Please refer to your favorite bonsai book or local bonsai experts.
